Summary:
The Credit Policy Writer Senior is responsible for developing, writing, and maintaining clear and concise technical documentation, including credit policies, procedures, and best practices, and ensuring credit policy content is compliant with the Bank’s technical writing requirements and drafting and maintaining credit policy-related procedures for Credit Administration.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Modify, maintain, and verify that credit policy content is in accordance with the Bank’s technical writing requirements and that credit policy templates are accurate, up-to-date, and in alignment with the Bank’s tools and templates.
- Develop, write, and maintain clear and concise technical documentation, including credit policies, procedures, and best practices. Collaborate with subject matter experts to gather information, clarify requirements, make recommendations, and ensure accuracy and consistency in documentation.
- Lead in developing documentation for credit policy, procedures, and job aids. Ensure effective procedures, forms, and reference materials are drafted and published to adequately capture Credit Administration’s processes and credit policy alignment.
- Recommend and document business procedures and best practices, identifying process gaps and offering alternatives. Continuously improve writing processes and document management practices to optimize workflows.
- Performs credit administrator duties as required including:
- Maintain and manage credit policies, credit procedures and credit approval authority matrices
- SharePoint site development, including creation and maintenance of document libraries
- Coordinate and distribute meeting materials for working groups and committees; maintain and manage credit policy email and calendar
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- At least seven (7) years of technical documentation, publication, procedure writing, or business process writing experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of credit policies and commercial lending
- Demonstrated experience consulting and writing content with subject matter experts
- Proven ability to independently engage, collaborate, and build strong relationships with all levels of colleagues
- Extensive knowledge and understanding of professional technical writing processes and tools
- Experience with writing style and standard guides
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and SharePoint with advanced formatting and publishing skills
- Direct work with or use of policies within a financial institution
- Collaborative approach to the development of a final work product that satisfies requirements and is functional for users with varied skill levels and skill sets
- Ability to manage and function effectively in a multi-step or multi-task environment while adhering to deadlines and time constraints
- Ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear manner
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities
