Job Summary:
As the Policy and Training Specialist, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining organizational policies and procedures. This role also involves creating, facilitating, and monitoring training programs to ensure staff understand and comply with these policies. This position requires a solid background in PowerPoint, video editing tools, facilitating training, commercial loan operations, and adult learning principles. Your mission is to ensure team members are fully equipped with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to execute with high accuracy and exceptional customer service.
Essential Duties & Key Responsibilities:
Policy & Procedure (P&P) Support (25%)
Manage documentation workflows in the DocTract system including uploading, formatting, and maintaining version control.
Track and monitor the policy lifecycle (creation, revisions, annual reviews) across departments.
Gather procedural changes and support new policy development.
Coordinate and schedule the annual policy review process, ensuring deadlines are met.
Ensure governance alignment, consistency, and audit readiness across all policy documents.
Training Development Support (40%)
Partner with the L&D team to translate updates into engaging training modules.
Assist with editing training modules or training materials as P&P changes or projects are implemented.
Build and publish eLearning courses in Articulate 360, Rise360, and other tools.
Provide support in designing job aids, quick reference guides, and learning resources.
Collaborate with trainers and SMEs to ensure content is accurate, compliant, and user-friendly.
Assist with LMS testing, publishing, and reporting on training.
Training Specialist (35%)
Support onboarding for all new hires, with a focus on sales and operations roles.
Deliver systems training (e.g., Salesforce) relevant to daily job functions.
Coordinate training schedules in partnership with HR.
Create feedback loops and recommend improvements to enhance the onboarding experience.
Qualifications: Education and Skills:
Bachelor’s degree in education, business, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
Proven experience in policy development and training program design.
Proficiency in PowerPoint, with the ability to create visually appealing and informative presentations.
Proficient in video creation and video learning tools.
Skilled in facilitating engaging training sessions, including onboarding and sales enablement.
Strong communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Proficiency in instructional design and e-learning platforms.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in the financial services industry or investor lending is a plus.
Basic knowledge of instructional design and eLearning development tools like Rise360 and Articulate360.
Experience with DocTract or other document management systems
Work Environment:
This is a hybrid position or remote position. Hybrid would be in our Thousand Oaks, California office.
Compensation:
The base pay range for this position is $75,000 year, plus annual discretionary bonus based on performance of the individual and company.
