Job Summary

The Executive Director of Community Management will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our community association management division within the assigned region and/or state. You will lead a team dedicated to providing exceptional service to our clients and ensuring the smooth functioning of the communities we manage. This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of community association management principles.

Supervisor Responsibilities

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new onsite and Portfolio Community Association Managers. 
  • Provides constructive and timely performance evaluations. 
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.

Duties/Responsibilities

Team Leadership
  • Provide strategic direction and guidance to the community association management team.
  • Mentor and develop team members to ensure high performance and professional growth.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Operational Management
  • Oversee the execution of all operational aspects of community association management, including financial management, maintenance, vendor relations, and compliance.
  • Develop and implement efficient processes and procedures to streamline operations and improve service delivery.
  • Monitor key performance indicators and metrics to track the effectiveness of operations and identify areas for improvement.
Client Relations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, concerns, and escalations.
  • Build strong relationships with community association boards and stakeholders.
  • Conduct regular meetings with clients to review performance, address issues, and ensure client satisfaction.
Financial Management
  • Work closely with accounting to develop and manage budgets for each community association.
  • Oversee the collection of dues and assessments, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
  • Review financial reports and statements to ensure compliance with budgetary goals and financial best practices.
Vendor and Contractor Management
  • Identify and onboard qualified vendors and contractors to provide services to community associations.
  • Negotiate contracts and service agreements to ensure favorable terms and cost-effectiveness.
  • Monitor vendor performance and address any issues or concerns promptly.
Compliance and Governance
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and governing documents.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations and best practices.
  • Assist community association boards in developing and implementing policies and procedures to promote compliance and good governance.
Perform other job-related duties as directed by upper management.

Required Skills/Abilities  

  • Extensive knowledge of Federal and State laws governing the operation of community associations.
  • Good working knowledge of the community’s governing documents and rules.
  • Excellent people skills and proven ability to maintain working relationships with residents and volunteers.
  • Superior communication and networking ability.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, team members, and stakeholders.
  • The ability to multi-task on a variety of levels with the utmost of focus and professionalism.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with a proven ability to motivate and develop teams.
  • Must be able to work longer than an eight-hour day or a forty-hour week*.
  • Must be able to respond to after-hours emergencies as necessary*.

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Real Estate Management, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in community association management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Industry certifications such as Certified Manager of Community Associations (CMCA) or Association Management Specialist (AMS) preferred.
Work Location
  • Remote role with required travel for onsite meetings, client visits, and community needs.
  • Hybrid work may be available depending on region and business needs.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions  

  • Remote role with travel as needed.
  • Works both indoors and outdoors.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk, working on a computer, and talking on a phone.
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs. at a time.
